The Big Bang Theory fans are eagerly awaiting the spin-off TV series Young Sheldon which reveals the early life of child genius Sheldon Cooper in Texas in the late 1980s (the adult version famously played by Jim Parsons). On Young Sheldon, the child genius is portrayed by Iain Armitage who made his acting debut in January on Law & Order: Special Victims Unit. (He played missing 6-year-old boy Theo Lachere.)

Since that Law & Order: SVU episode, Armitage has starred in the David E. Kelly drama Big Little Lies with Reese Witherspoon and Nicole Kidman as Shailene Woodley’s son Ziggy, and in the film The Glass Castle (as the youngest Brian) with Brie Larson, Naomi Watts, and Woody Harrelson. Armitage will appear next on the big screen in I’m Not Here with J.K. Simmons and Mandy Moore. Iain is the son of theater producer Lee Armitage and actor Euan Morton. For the past three years, Iain has been posting his reviews of Broadway productions on YouTube under the moniker “Iain Loves Theatre.” And it looks like the Young Sheldon gig isn’t getting in his way on YouTube. His most recent review was posted on September 1 (see below). Young Sheldon will premiere on Monday, September 25 at 8:30pm, right after the Season 11 premiere of The Big Bang Theory.
