The Lifetime movie Sea Change follows Miranda Merchant, a teenage girl who reunites with her estranged mother Amelia (Maria Dizzia) after her father’s death. Amelia lives on a remote island off the New England coast. Yes, it’s creepy. There she learns about the local legend of the Seawalkers – a hybrid of a human and sea creature. Turns out her family has a long history with the Seawalkers.
Miranda is portrayed by model/actress Emily Rudd. Sea Change is the 24-year-old’s big debut. Rudd’s next acting project is the lead in a comedic TV series for USA Network, Olive Forever. She stars as Olive, a teenage cat burglar, with Malcolm-Jamal Warner (Theo from The Cosby Show). Rudd already has more than 426,000 followers on Instagram from her modeling photos and her appearances in music videos including the ones below. Rudd will likely hit or surpass the 500,000 mark after Sea Change premieres on Lifetime on Sunday, September 17 at 8pm.
