Marlon Wayans is the star of the new NBC sitcom Marlon. He plays a man named Marlon Wayne who is going through a divorce with Ashley, the mother of his children. They’re trying to make it an amicable divorce, but as in real life, that’s never easy. In the series premiere episode, Marlon reacts to Ashley dating other men. (Spoiler alert: Marlon isn’t really ready to let go of the marriage.)
Ashley is portrayed by Essence Atkins. She’s known for her roles on Mr. Box Office (Samantha Owens), Are We There Yet? (Suzanne Kingston-Persons), Half & Half (Dee De Thorne), and Smart Guy (Tasha Yvette Henderson), among others. This isn’t the first time Atkins has worked with Wayans. They were in the 2013 film A Haunted House together (she plays his wife Kisha in that too). Marlon airs Tuesdays at 9pm and 9:30pm on NBC.
