Three music moguls — Rick Ross, Lenny S., and The-Dream — are the producers and stars of the new VH1 reality competition show Signed. In a studio in Atlanta, they’re auditioning the next generation of hip-hop and R&B singers who have traveled far and wide for the chance to perform and hopefully work with the moguls.

The-Dream (born Terius Youngdell Nash) is known for co-writing songs for Britney Spears (“Me Against the Music” featuring Madonna), Rihanna (“Umbrella”), Beyonce (“Single Ladies, Put a Ring on It”), and Justin Bieber (“Baby”), among many others. The-Dream has said that the death of his mother (when he was 15) gave him a “soft spot” for female singers. As a solo artist, The-Dream has released eight studio albums including his latest Love Affair. Signed airs Wednesdays at 9pm on VH1.
