Shark Tank TV star Kevin O’Leary flirted with a political run to lead Canada’s conservative party earlier this year before withdrawing “for the sake of the party that I do this, and the country,” as he told the Daily Globe and Mail. It wasn’t that O’Leary thought he wouldn’t be great at the job, but he became convinced he couldn’t deliver Quebec for the party — and that was a deal breaker. But his own abandoned ambition hasn’t stopped O’Leary — if his latest tweet is read as earnest — from supporting other TV stars leading conservative parties, or at least from drinking their branded booze.
O’Leary tweeted that he was breaking out “the #45 therealdonaldtrump vodka to make our night great again!” O’Leary is a wine connoisseur who has sold a lot of it on QVC, but apparently when he wants something a bit stronger, he turns to Donald Trump and his defunct vodka. Of course, the discontinued aspect of the Trump vodka lends it the cachet of being a relative rarity. Bottles sell on EBay for hundreds of dollars. O’Leary might be poking a little fun at Trump’s failed venture or he might be sincere. If it’s the latter, keep a careful eye on the dynamic next season between O’Leary and fellow Shark Mark Cuban, who energetically backed Hillary Clinton.
Time to serve the #45 therealdonaldtrump vodka to make our night great again! https://t.co/wtTcBeSTTK
