The Real Housewives of Orange County is back for its 12th season and the ladies don’t waste any time drawing lines in the sand. In the premiere episode, ‘The Great Divide,’ returning ‘wife Lydia McLaughlin meets Shannon Beador — and let’s just say they don’t quite hit it off. When Lydia tells Shannon that she reminds her of Vicki Gunvalson, Shannon gets defensive and Lydia thinks she’s overreacting.
When Shannon tries to explain to Lydia, “I was upset because you said I was just like Vicki, and that’s what set me off,” Shannon literally stands behind Tamra Judge. Shannon has gained weight since Season 11, she says. In a Bravo video, she explains stress has caused her to eat more and drink more, and the weight gain has “affected me on how I feel about myself. I’m embarrassed of my body.” That self-assessment comes to mind as Shannon stands behind Tamra on-camera. But when Shannon gets upset when Lydia refers to her as “a lost soul” it might just be, you know, that no one wants to be called that. The Real Housewives of Orange County airs Mondays at 9pm on Bravo.
