On Celebrity Family Feud, a team of MLB legends headed by Ozzie Smith will compete against a team of NBA legends headed by James Worthy. The youngest legend on Ozzie Smith’s team is 33-year-old Prince Fielder.
Prince Fielder played first base and designated hitter for the Texas Rangers (2014-2016), Detroit Tigers (2012-2013), and Milwaukee Brewers (2005-2011). He retired in August 2016 after his second neck surgery in three years. He was born right-handed but his father, former MLB power hitter Cecil Fielder, trained Prince to be a left-handed hitter. (When Prince hit his 50th home run of the season in 2007, he and his father became the only father/son duo in Major League history to each reach the milestone.) And yes, Prince is named after Prince the musician. His mother Stacey was a fan. In 2016, when Prince the artist died, Fielder told the Dallas Morning News, “It’s kind of weird when an icon dies, but I never really felt more of a connection to him. I like him and I listen to him, but not like every day.” Celebrity Family Feud airs Sundays at 8pm on ABC.
