One of the most unique acts competing on Season 12 of America’s Got Talent is The Singing Trump, an impersonator of President Donald J. Trump. He was not met with a wave of applause when he first walked onto the stage for his audition. (In character, he told the audience to stop with the “fake boos.”) AGT judge Mel B didn’t wait long to hit her buzzer, but the other judges gave the Singing Trump the three yeses he needed to advance to the Judge Cuts. The Singing Trump didn’t leave the stage before zinging Mel B about not understanding his act because she’s from Australia. When she yelled, “I’m English!” he shrugged and said, “I’m not good with countries.”

Whether it was a strategic move or not, the Singing Trump wooed Mel B during his Judge Cuts performance as he sang and danced to a Backstreet Boys medley of songs which had Mel B singing along and swaying in her chair. After the performance, Mel B told the Singing Trump, “I’m eating my words, and I apologize.” America’s Got Talent airs Tuesdays at 8pm on NBC.
