Claws is a dramedy about the owner of a nail salon in Florida and her four female manicurists who run a successful business and a money laundering scheme with a local pain clinic. Not only is the premise intriguing but so are the characters. Desna (Niecy Nash) is the owner. She employs her best friend Jennifer (Jenn Lyon), preppy Polly (Carrie Preston) who has just been released from prison, Virginia (Karrueche Tran) who’s been filling in for Polly while she was away, and Quiet Ann, who looks like and behaves like she might have done time in jail, is Desna’s security guard.
Quiet Ann is portrayed by Judy Reyes. She’s known for her roles on Jane the Virgin (Dina Milagro), Devious Maids (Zoila Diaz), Scrubs (Nurse Carla Espinosa), and Oz (Tina Rivera), among others. Fun fact: Judy is the fraternal twin of actress Joselin Reyes (paramedic Martinez on Law & Order: SVU). Claws airs Sundays at 9pm on TNT.
