On the third episode of The Bachelorette, Rachel gets some one-on-one time with handsome 31-year-old business owner Peter. They have one obvious thing in common – “the teeth.” Both Rachel and Peter have gap teeth. He jokes with Rachel, “You know, if we do have children at some point, they’re pretty much screwed.” When Rachel asks Peter “Why did you keep yours?” He says it wasn’t brought up to him as an option [to change it]. “It’s just a family trait,” he says — his father’s entire side of the family has it. Rachel says she’s the only one in her family who has it, except her nephew.
Rachel goes on to explain that when she was in high school, her dentist told her she could fix it with braces but he said “Honestly, I don’t think you should. I think it adds character.” Rachel said, “I like that, I think I’m going to roll with that.” They agree that the gap tooth look looks great on each other. After their one-on-one date, Rachel says: “What Peter is bringing out of me today is that romance. And I felt it from the moment he got out of the limousine.” She says, “I continue to feel it (the romance).” The Bachelorette airs Mondays at 8pm on ABC.
