Dancing Pumpkin Man is a one-man show competing on America’s Got Talent, Season 12. He’s known for cutting a rug on the Internet, particulary around Halloween. He does look spooky in his all-black spandex bodysuit and pumpking mask. For his AGT audition, after getting vulnerable with judge Simon Cowell, he starts dancing to the 1984 Rockwell song “Somebody’s Watching Me.” And yes, that is Michael Jackson you hear singing the chorus (his brother Jermaine is in there too). The Jacksons were childhood friends of Rockwell, the son of Motown CEO Berry Gordy. The single was released by Motown Records.
Dancing Pumpkin Man told Cowell he just wants to “spread joy through the dance” and that’s what he does on AGT. Although Cowell hit his buzzer right away, Mel B (and most of the audience) gave him a standing ovation. America’s Got Talent airs Tuesdays at 8pm on NBC.
