In the Superior Donuts episode “Art for Art’s Sake,” young donut shop employee Franco Wicks (Jermaine Fowler) has his first art show — and it’s at the donut shop. Franco is shocked when his estranged, disapproving father Reggie shows up.
Reggie Wicks is portrayed by Cedric the Entertainer. The standup comedian (one of the original Kings of Comedy) is known for his roles on The Soul Man (Revered Boyce “The Voice” Ballentine), The Steve Harvey Show (Cedric Jackie Robinson) and in the Barbershop movies (Eddie), among others. Or maybe you recognize his voice from Ice Age (Carl) or Madagascar (Maurice). Superior Donuts airs Mondays at 9pm on CBS.
