Yoli Mayor was one of the first acts to perform on America’s Got Talent, Season 12. The 21-year-old says she’s been singing since she was 2 years old but has struggled with “being a big girl.” Host Tyra Banks reassures Yoli that beauty comes in all different sizes and shapes.

Wearing a long black cocktail dress and big rhinestone jewelry, Yoli starts to sing “I Put a Spell on You” but Simon Cowell cuts her off and says it’s not working. It’s feeling old. He asks her to sing something else. Tyra Banks runs out to the stage to loosen Yoli’s hair to take off some of the heavy jewelry – and her high heeled shoes! Yoli sings Ed Sheeran‘s “Make It Rain” and nails it. All four judges give her a standing ovation. “We might have found a solid gold star,” says Simon. America’s Got Talent airs Tuesdays at 8pm on NBC.
