In the Say Yes to the Dress episode “This Is My Fiance…and This Is His Wife!” a party of three arrives at Kleinfeld bridal salon. Jennifer is the bride. Her fiance Peter Runmo is there and so is his wife of 10 years, Ellen. The show is being promoted as the salon’s “first polygamous throuple.” According to Jennifer, “Ellen had some serious health issues which put a strain on her marriage with Peter.” After giving birth to her daughter, Ellen started to develop symptoms of Obsessive-Compulsive Disorder (OCD) and “I could not deal with touch” which of course affected intimacy with her husband. Ellen said it was “unfair” to her husband so she decided “to let Peter have the option to be with someone else.”
On Say Yes to the Dress, Peter says it wasn’t a religious decision. “We were all Catholic, [this is] pretty far from the religion in which we were raised.” Ellen says, “This was something that I kind of pushed. I wanted to be sure that he was okay.” Say Yes to the Dress airs Saturdays at 8pm on TLC.
