For the Season 8 finale of Undercover Boss, celebrity chef and restaurateur Marcus Samuelsson disguises himself as Vijay in order to find talented chefs he can mentor. He finds them in a variety of places including a soup kitchen, a high-end food truck, and a public cooking class.
On all of his outings, “Vijay” tends to come unprepared. As the food truck owners say, “It looks like he just left his office job.” At the cooking class, he “admits” to instructor Brianne that he doesn’t really know anything about cooking let alone know how to make pasta dough from scratch. While she walks him through the process, Vijay gets schooled. With a smile, Brianne tells Vijay, “You gotta listen,” and when kneading the dough, teases him “what, you’re going to let a girl beat you?” Marcus tells the camera, “I love Brianne because she has that New York City attitude – you need that in the kitchen.” She’s testing me, he says, “if I’m going to waste her time.” Celebrity Undercover Boss: Marcus Samuelsson premieres on Friday, May 19 at 8pm on CBS.
