In the third season of Fargo on FX, police officer Gloria Burgle (Carrie Coon) crosses paths with the Stussy brothers, Emmit and Ray. Hollywood star Ewan McGregor (Trainspotting, Moulin Rouge!, Black Hawk Down, Big Fish, Stars Wars: Episode I, II, III) plays both roles. Emmit is the handsome rich one who looks good in a white tuxedo. Ray is an unattractive parole officer dating parolee Nikki (Mary Elizabeth Winstead).
Ray blames Emmit for his life of misfortunes and gets slapped across the face, more than once. Hence, the insider joke Ewan McGregor recently made on Instagram –“Missing Fargo would be a real slap in the face, ya know.” (See below.) Fargo airs Wednesdays at 10pm on FX.
