In the New Girl episode ‘Misery’, Jess (Zooey Deschanel) kills two birds with one stone when she goes to Portland to take care of her dad (Rob Reiner). The trip also helps her avoid her feelings for Nick (Jake Johnson). Meanwhile, Aly gets excited to meet Winston’s mother Charmaine until Winston (Lamorne Morris) admits that he hasn’t yet told her that they’re a couple.
Winston’s mom is portrayed by Anna Maria Horsford. She’s known for her roles on The Bold and the Beautiful (Vivienne Avant), Reed Between the Lines (Ms. helen), The Shield (ADA Beth Encardi), The Wayans Bros.
