Superstar Olympic figure skater and former Dancing with the Stars champion Kristi Yamaguchi wished fellow superstar Olympic figure skater and DWTS hopeful Nancy Kerrigan good luck on DWTS. Kristi’s well-meant tweet used the common showbiz phrase “break a leg!” — a fine thing to say to almost anyone, except perhaps Nancy Kerrigan. (Kerrigan was famously attacked and struck in the knees before the 1994 Olympics.)
So excited for you @NancyAKerrigan ! Can’t wait to see you grace that ballroom floor, break a leg! ??#DWTS

People on Twitter, of course, noticed Kristi’s (sort of) gaffe. But it’s an incident Nancy has put behind her — and one Kristi certainly never thought of when she wrote “break a leg!” You can tell Nancy didn’t think anything of it by her response. She was actually more concerned with her typos. Speaking of which, the real gossip here might be Nancy’s contact lens reveal (see below). Will the new contacts affect Nancy’s dancing, too? She’s overcome a lot more than that, but on DWTS the winner needs every advantage.
Just was looking at this, I am adjusting to new contacts…#oops! Thank you @kristiyamaguchi for the advise! It definitely is helping! #dwts https://t.co/UPeeSFZ1xG
