For enthusiasm Charo will not be outdone on Dancing With the Stars. Indeed one fan commented after a Charo Instagram post that she hoped the bubbly one-named musical superstar could “tone it down” enough to dance well. (See her warm-up with former Mirror Ball winner Alfonso Ribeiro below.) Charo’s partner Keo Motsepe will be in charge of the tone-downs — and the tone-ups when necessary. What he’ll have on his side is a true show business pro for a partner. Charo has shared the stages of Las Vegas and countless other hotspots around the world with huge entertainers during her long career. She’ll bring her trademark Cuchi-Cuchi to the DWTS floor, for sure.

For all her exuberance and sex appeal, Charo’s virtuoso guitar playing is sometimes forgotten. As a youth the Spanish-born Charo studied with Flamenco guitar legend Andres Segovia, and became a master of her instrument. She was twice named “Best Classical Flamenco Guitarist in the World” by Guitar Player Magazine. If she continues on, a great dance routine will no doubt see her plucking a few notes on the strings. It’s the equivalent of Alfonso Ribeiro doing “The Carlton.” Dancing with the Stars airs Mondays at 8pm on ABC.
