The Battle Rounds continue of The Voice, Season 12. Alicia Keys pits Hunter Plake against Jack Cassidy against each other. Together they sing the 2010 song “Dancing on My Own” which was written by and originally performed by Swedish singer Robyn who says the song was inspired by her “love of inherently sad, gay disco anthems.” Last year, British artist Calum Scott brought the song to the top of the UK pop charts.

Why did Alicia Keys pick this song? It might have something to do with the fact that in July 2010 Robyn sang “a minimalist, electro cover version” of Alicia Keys’ “Try Sleeping with a Broken Heart” in a live performance on iheartradio. The Voice airs Mondays and Tuesdays at 8pm on NBC.
