Season 5 (the final season) of Bates Motel promises several surprise visitors including Marion Crane, the young woman featured in the original 1960 Alfred Hitchcock film Psycho. In the film Marion is portrayed by Janet Leigh. She’s in a relationship with a divorcee named Sam Loomis. On Bates Motel, Marion is portrayed by Rihanna; Sam is portrayed by Austin Nichols. (In Psycho, Sam was portrayed by John Gavin who later served as U.S. Ambassador to Mexico during the Reagan Administration.)
Austin Nichols is known for his roles on The Walking Dead (Spencer Monroe), Ray Donovan (Tommy Wheeler), The Mob Doctor (Luke Harris), One Tree Hill (Julian Baker), and Friday Night Lights (Noah Barnett), among others. Bates Motel airs Mondays at 10pm on A&E.
