On The Big Bang Theory episode ‘The Allowance Evaporation,’ while Amy (Mayim Bialik) gets mad at Sheldon (Jim Parsons) for revealing intimate details from their relationship to people at work, Raj (Kunal Nayyar) struggles when his father, Dr. Koothrappali, cuts off his allowance.
Raj’s father is portrayed by Brian George. He has appeared on several TV shows and is a prolific voice actor (Hotel Transylvania, The Pink Panther, Dennis the Menace, et. al.). George is also well-recognized for his role as Babu on Seinfeld. He appeared in three episodes with Jerry Seinfeld who convinced Babu to change his Pakistani restaurant menu. The results drove Babu into bankruptcy and got him deported. On the Seinfeld series finale, Babu returns to testify in court against Seinfeld. While wagging his finger at Jerry, he declares, “You bad man! You very very bad man!” The Big Bang Theory airs Thursdays at 8pm on CBS.
