The TLC docu-series Rattled: A Paralyzed Mother’s Story follows the life of Rachelle Chapman. She became paralyzed in 2010 at her bachelorette party after a friend playfully pushed her in a pool. Rachelle suffered a spinal-cord injury which left her a quadriplegic for life. After a year of physical therapy and rehabilitation, Rachelle did marry her husband Chris. In 2015, they became the parents of a baby girl (Kaylee) with the help of Rachelle’s college friend who was their surrogate.
On the show, Rachelle says: “Before the accident, I was super-athletic; I used to teach aerobics. My body could do anything; I could take it to the limit.” She’s still pushing her body. Rachelle is determined to one day stand on her own. Rattled: A Paralyzed Mother’s Story airs Mondays at 10pm on TLC.
