Academy Award-winning actress Julia Roberts will star in a TV series based on Maria Semple’s novel Today Will Be Different which was released in October 2016. The author of the bestseller Where’d You Go, Bernadette has also worked as a TV writer and producer on series including Suddenly Susan starring Brooke Shields and Arrested Development. Semple will write the adaptation of Today Will Be Different for TV.
Semple told The Hollywood Reporter: “I’m giddy that Eleanor Flood [the protagonist of Today Will Be Different] will be brought to life by Julia Roberts.” Roberts will produce the Today Will Be Different series through her Red Om Films company, with Semple as one of the executive producers.
