In the Life in Pieces episode ‘Dinner Professor Steps Lesbian’, while Tyler (Niall Cunningham) and Clementine (Hunter King) invite Tyler’s uncle Matt (Thomas Sadoski) and his girlfriend Colleen (Angelique Cabral) over for an awkward dinner party, matriarch Joan Short (Dianne Wiest) is praised by her creative writing professor, Professor Sinclair Wilde. When Joan’s husband (James Brolin) catches wind of the professor’s praise, he assumes the teacher has a crush on his student.
Professor Sinclair Wilde is portrayed by Cary Elwes. The Englishman is known for his role in the films The Princess Bride (Westley), Mel Brooks’ Robin Hood: Men in Tights (Robin Hood), Liar Liar (Maura Tierney’s boyfriend Jerry), and Saw (Dr. Lawrence Gordon), among many others.
