On the How to Get Away with Murder episode ‘Who’s Dead?’, when Annalise (Viola Davis) stops by her hair stylist’s salon, she gets a thank you for the referral. Annalise doesn’t know what or who she’s talking about. The stylist says: “She seems to know you pretty well…or want to know you. To be honest, I got a little single black female vibe about it.” When Annalise asks if the woman she’s taking about is “Pretty, brown skin, natural hair,” the haristylist says yes. “Greasy curly. It looks good on her actually.” Guess who Annalise visits after the salon? You got it, curly haired, A.D.A. Rene Atwood (Milauna Jackson).
Annalise’s hairstylist is portrayed by superstar singer Mary J. Blige, whose latest single is Thick of It. How to Get Away with Murder airs Thursdays at 10pm on ABC.
