The Gilmore Girls dialogue always moved at hyperspeed, so fast you’d think the characters were nervous. They weren’t, of course — they were just quirky and confident and remarkably quick-witted, all qualities that endeared them to fans. Really, really endeared them. That love is why the build up for the Gilmore Girls reboot on Netflix was — is— so hyped up. In a switch of how things normally go, it’s not the network amping the volume so fans will be primed for a new show. It’s the fans driving the excitement and Netflix just trying to service it.
Lauren Graham, Alexis Bledel and the other stars may not have been so nervous — they’re used to the adulation and the fan frenzy. But actor Sean Gunn, who plays Kirk, admits a jolt of nerves. He has seen the GG passion and it gave him the jitters. Gunn, who acted in Guardians of the Galaxy, said Gilmore Girls passion even tops superhero love. “The Gilmore Girls fans might be crazier,” the actor told CNN, “which is insane to even say that.” Gunn said he was “a little nervous, at first, sure.”
