On The Simpsons episode ‘The Town,’ Homer Simpson discovers his son Bart rooting for Springfield’s football rival, the Boston Americans. Homer is livid and sets off to teach his family to hate Boston and everything there. They go on a “Hate-cation” to Beantown and run into a number of local celebs including characters that look a lot like members of the New England Patriots who are on parade.
The Simpsons showrunner Al Jean says Boston diehards shouldn’t worry, once Homer discovers a candlepin bowling alley (owned by mob boss Whitey Bulger), Homer becomes a convert and wants to relocate the family to Boston. Guest voices include former SNL player Rachel Dratch (doctor), and historian Doris Kearns Goodwin. The Simpsons airs Sundays at 8pm on FOX.
