On The Voice, Season 11, to prepare the artists for their first round of Battles, each coach picks a guest coach to help out. Adam Levine chose Sammy Hagar, the former front man of Rock and Roll Hall of Fame band Van Halen. Hagar says working with Adam, his “Cabo buddy,” was a blast. (That’s Cabo as in Cabo San Lucas, Mexico. They both have houses there.) Hagar and Levine are also partners in the tequila business. Together they launched the tequila brand Santo (translated Saint).
Hagar says while on The Voice set, he and Adam drank Santo together. “Well, we didn’t start drinking until about 12 hours into the show,” Hagar said. While the Hall of Famer said the contestants shouldn’t drink while competing, he admitted that he and Adam Levine “busted out the Santo and we’d do a shot. And then go finish our job.” The Voice airs Mondays and Tuesdays at 8pm on NBC.
