Syfy is kicking off the scary month of October by airing the horror movie The Crooked Man on October 1. The Crooked Man appears when a particular song is sung. Six years earlier, 12-year-old Olivia Shaw sang it at a slumber party and then her friend Jill was stabbed to death. Olivia spends the next six years in a psychiatric hospital. Feeling a little better, she returns home, only to be haunted by The Crooked Man again. The demonic figure is killing all of the girls (who are now young women) who were at the slumber party. Olivia comes to believe that the only way to stop The Crooked Man is to kill him.

Olivia is portrayed by Angelique Rivera. The University of Florida theatre major (class of 2014) is known for her (first professional) role as Evy Dominguez on the ABC drama series American Crime (Season 2). Rivera will appear next on the big screen in the thriller Loca with Lou Diamond Phillips and Steven Bauer. The Crooked Man will premiere on Saturday, October 1 at 9pm on Syfy.
