In the Modern Family season 8 premiere episode ‘A Tale of Three Cities’, the Pritchetts gather for Father’s Day after the three families return from separate travels. Claire, Phil and the kids go to New York; Jay, Gloria and Joe go to Mexico; and Mitch, Cam and Lily visit Cam’s family in the Midwest. Last time we saw Cam’s mother Barb Tucker was at Mitchell and Cam’s wedding in 2014.

Barb Tucker is portrayed by Celia Weston. She’s known for her roles on American Horror Story (Lillian Hemmings) and Alice (Jolene Hunnicutt), to name two very different shows. Weston is also known for her roles in the films The Intern (Doris), Junebug with then rising stars Amy Adams and Ben McKenzie (Peg), M. Night Shyamalan’s The Village, Dead Man Walking (Mary Beth Percy), and The Talented Mr. Ripley (Aunt Joan). Modern Family airs Wednesdays at 9pm on ABC.
