There are 20 members on the IAVA board of directors including actor Peter Berg (producer of the 2013 film Lone Survivor about a team of soldiers on a mission to capture or kill Taliban leader Ahmad Shah in 2005); TV legend Norman Lear; and Ted Kennedy’s son, former US Representative Patrick J. Kennedy, among others. IAVA Founder and CEO Paul Rieckhoff says of Kennedy: “He follows in the footsteps of his uncle President John F. Kennedy, a decorated World War II vet, and his father Senator Ted Kennedy, in keeping veterans support a top priority for the entire Kennedy family. We are thrilled to have Patrick now leading IAVA’s future as a board member.” Commander-in-Chief Forum will air Wednesday, September 7 at 8pm on NBC.
