Actor Kiefer Sutherland (24, The Lost Boys) stars in the new drama Designated Survivor which premieres Wednesday, September 21. His character, cabinet member Tom Kirkman, becomes the President of the United States after a catastrophic attack kills everyone in the line of succession before him. Designated Survivor is written by David Guggenheim who’s known for the action thriller films Safe House (starring Denzel Washington and Ryan Reynolds) and Stolen (starring Nicolas Cage). Guggenheim is reportedly writing the next Bad Boys film starring Will Smith and Martin Lawrence.
On the set of Designated Survivor, Sutherland made a quick video from his “swanky new office,” and thanked his fans for checking out his latest album Down in a Hole. Designated Survivor will air on Wednesdays at 10pmo on ABC.
