Chris Northam Sr. of Roseville, California was the owner of SkimX, a new extreme sports water park for skimboarding in Roseville, California. On May 30, 2011, Northam was found dead in a warehouse at SkimX. The 44-year-old was shot twice with a rifle. In February 2012, Northam’s 25-year-old son Christopher Northam, Jr. was arrested after “he lied multiple times to investigators about the details of his last phone conversation with his father and his whereabouts that day.” Prosecutors claim that money was the motive for Northam Jr. and that his father had a $3 million life insurance policy. Prosecutors also allege that Northam Jr was embezzling money from the business.
A woman posting as Teresa Ann Rosenstiel Northam, who alleges she’s the mother of Northam Sr and grandmother of Northam Jr., left a comment on an online article published by The Press Tribune. She was not pleased with the article and suggested that the reporter didn’t get the whole story at her grandson’s hearing. She wrote that as the grandmother of the defendant, she “will, including family members, always stand in his support. Rest assured, the truth will come out, it is hoped that you adjust your schedule to get the full story.” Dateline NBC airs Fridays at 10pm.
