In the Ray Donovan episode ‘Norman Saves the World,’ Ray Donovan (Liev Schreiber) is looking for a way to get his old man Mickey (Jon Voight) out of prison. He turns to his old adversary, former FBI agent Ed Cochran. Ray meets Ed in a recording studio. He drops a bag full of cash at the feet of Ed, who accepts the job.
Ed Cochran is portrayed by Hank Azaria. The native New Yorker is also known for his roles on Huff (Dr. Craig ‘Huff’ Huffstodt), Friends (David, Phoebe’s scientist boyfriend who moves to Minsk), and Mad About You (Nat Ostertag) with his then wife Helen Hunt. Azaria is also known for his roles in the films Along Came Polly (Claude), The Birdcage (Agador the butler — and he’s incredibly awesome in it), Godzilla (Victor ‘Animal’ Palotti), Heat (Alan Marciano), and Quiz Show (Albert Freedman), to name a handful. Azaria also provides several voices for several animated shows and films including The Simpsons (Moe the bartender) and The Smurfs (Gargamel). Azaria will star in the new 2017 TV series Brockmeier –he plays baseball announcer Jim Brockmeier. Ray Donovan airs Sundays at 9pm on Showtime.
