Monica Olsen was a successful model who gave up her career when she married Dino Guglielmelli, owner of the $50 million business Creation’s Garden. They were married for about seven years and had two children together before Monica filed for divorce. Dino had several affairs with other woman and still reportedly wanted to control Monica who wanted to return to professional modeling. During the divorce and bitter custody battle over their daughters, Dino asked a friend to murder his wife for $80,000.
The friend/hit man went to the police and in 2014 Guglielmelli pleaded guilty no contest to second-degree attempted murder charges. He was sentenced to nine years in prison. From prison, Guglielmelli spoke with Troy Roberts of 48 Hours. Guglielmelli tells Roberts: “I’ve been criminalized, Troy. It’s just destroyed my life. And I don’t get it, I don’t understand why everyone wants to attack me, and this guy set me up.” 48 Hours will re-air its investigation on Saturday, August 13 at 9pm on CBS.
