R&B singer/songwriter Ne-Yo (born Shaffer Chimere Smith) is one of the guest judges on Season 11 of America’s Got Talent. He’ll help AGT judges Simon Cowell, Mel B, Heidi Klum and Howie Mandel make the first round of Judge Cuts on July 12 (8pm, NBC). Future Season 11 guest judges include country star Reba McEntire, comedian George Lopez, and One Direction’s Louis Tomlinson.
It’s been a busy year for Ne-Yo. In February he got married to Crystal Renay. He tried to sing his ballad “Two” at their wedding but he said he got too emotional to finish. The chorus goes: “So let them say whatever they want to, cause all that matters is me and you.” In March, the “Two” became Three when Renay gave birth to Ne-Yo’s son, Shaffer, Jr. The child is Crystal’s first, and Ne-Yo’s third. America’s Got Talent airs Tuesdays at 8pm on NBC.
