Spartan: Ultimate Team Challenge is the new obstacle race reality show competition on NBC. Spartan is hosted by former NFL player Dhani Jones. The first episode featured co-workers enduring the Spartan race. Next up in the second episode is “Bet the Farm,” where a team of farmers competes in the Spartan race. It’s all MC’d with excitement and calm by Jones.
Before playing in the NFL for 11 seasons, Dhani Jones earned All-Big Ten honors for three straight seasons at the University of Michigan. In the sixth round of the 2000 NFL Draft he was picked by the New York Giants. After four seasons in New York, Jones played for the Philadelphia Eagles and the Cincinnati Bengals. He retired in October 2011. Spartan isn’t Jones’ first time on TV; he also hosted the Travel Channel’s Dhani Tackles the Globe and VH1’s Ton of Cash. Spartan: Ultimate Team Challenge airs Mondays at 10pm on NBC.
