On an episode of Celebrity Family Feud, New England Patriots tight end Rob Gronkowski and his family played against actress Holly Robinson Peete and her family. When Family Feud host Steve Harvey asked Rob and Holly “What’s something that can be inflated and deflated?” Holly got to the buzzer first. She said a balloon — while everyone including the Gronk was thinking about the then-recent Deflategate, where the Patriots were accused of deflating footballs during the AFC Championship Game (which they won). It was Holly Robinson Peete’s husband Rodney Peete who provided the answer “a ball.”
Rodney Peete knows something about balls. He was a quarterback in the NFL for 16 years. He played college ball at USC, where he was the school’s first player to win the Johnny Unitas Award. Peete also played third base on USC’s baseball team. Peete was drafted in the 1988 MLB Draft by the Oakland A’s before he was drafted by the NFL’s Detroit Lions in 1989. He also played for the Dallas Cowboys, Philadelphia Eagles, Washington Redskins, Oakland Raiders, and the Carolina Panthers before retiring in 2004. He’s been married to Holly Robinson since 1995. They have four children. This wasn’t the Peetes first time on TV together; they were on Celebrity Wife Swap with comedian Margaret Cho who handcuffed Peete in her dungeon. Celebrity Family Feud returns to ABC on Sunday, June 26, for season 2 — it promises to be more inflating than deflating.
