In the MasterChef episode “Top 17 Compete”, in addition to celebrity chef Aaron Sanchez, the Top 17 cooks will have the pleasure of meeting MasterChef Season 6 winner Claudia Sandoval. The competing cooks will face a 60-minute mystery-box challenge which will include using Sanchez’s and Sandoval’s favorite ingredients. Both chefs are known for their Mexican recipes.
Sandoval, the former event manager from La Mesa, California, has recently published her first book, Claudia’s Cocina: A Taste of Mexico. MasterChef judge Graham Elliot wrote in the foreward, “The recipes are chock-full of heart and soul, each displaying flavors and techniques that you’ll keep with you in your foodie toolbox for years to come.” Sandoval continues to live in La Mesa with her 10-year-old daughter. MasterChef airs Wednesdays at 8pm on FOX.
