In the Empire Season 2 finale episode “Past Is Prologue,” after that life-changing experience at the ASA Awards, Jamal Lyon (Jussie Smollett) announces that he’s putting his music career on hold until his family can put an end to the violence. Meanwhile, Cookie (Tariji P. Henson) comes up with a plan to protect her family which includes inviting more people from her past to Hakeem and Laura’s wedding. Bonus: Soul singer Veronica will perform at the wedding.
Veronica is portrayed by soul singer Veronika Bozeman. The 28-year-old from South Los Angeles is currently working with Mosley Music Group. On the premiere episode of Empire she sang “What is Love.” The video has been seen more than 26 million times (see below). No doubt Veronica wants to break that record for the dramatic ending of Season 2. Empire airs Wednesdays at 9pm on FOX.
