In the Royal Pains Season 8 premiere episode “Stranger Danger,” Eddie Lawson (Henry Winkler) returns to the Hamptons where he’s greeted by his sons Hank (Mark Feuerstein) and Evan (Paulo Costanzo). Hank and Evan react differently when Eddie reveals that he’s now dating one of Hank’s patients, Ms. Newberg. Last time we saw the thrice-married Ms. Newberg was a year ago — she threw a party for a TV host at her home.
Ms. Newberg is portrayed by Broadway star Christine Ebersole (Grey Gardens, 42nd Street, Dinner at Eight). On TV, she’s known for her roles on Madam Secretary (First Lady Lydia Dalton), Unbreakable Kimmy Schmidt (Helene), Sullivan & Son (Carol Walsh), American Horror Story (Anna-Lee Leighton), Rachel Gunn, R.N. (Rachel Gunn) The Cavanaughs (Kit Cavanaugh), Valerie (Barbara Goodwin), Saturday Night Live (SNL Newsbreak Anchor, 1981-1982), and Ryan’s Hope (Lily Darnell), among many others. Ebersole is also well recognized for her roles in a variety of films including The Wolf of Wall Street (Leah Belfort), Ri¢hie Ri¢h (Regina Rich), and Amadeus (Katerina Cavalieri). Royal Pains airs Wednesdays at 10pm on USA.
