On The Voice Live Finals, Hannah Huston got to write a song with her coach Pharrell, and “I Call The Shots,” stunned America. As Adam Levine said, “That was the coolest thing we’ve ever had on The Voice.” Adam nodded to Pharrell, “We all wish we could make a song with this guy.” Especially a song like this. Pharrell just stood smiling and rocking back and forth — and America got to see, from the outside anyway, what it feels like to be a hit maker, a guy who breathes pop chart toppers. Pharrell is, as Levine says, the man everybody wants a song from, to do a song with. The man who made millions “Happy” sure did the same for Hannah Huston. She called the shots and a hit was made.
After the performance, Pharrell told Hannah, “That was awesome. Honestly, it was such a pleasure to work with you throughout the season. You deserve to be here. And you calling the shots — that all came from you.” Levine said Pharrell was humble, but this was crazy. He just pulled a hit from his pocket and gave it to a school teacher who wants to be a star. The Season 10 winner of The Voice will be announced on Tuesday, May 24 at 8pm on NBC.
