In the NCIS episode “Charade,” Gibbs (Mark Harmon) informs Tony DiNozzo (Michael Weatherly) that he just died in a car crash. Well, someone who has been identified as Tony died in a car crash. Tony’s identity has been stolen by multiple perpetrators aka “Phony Tonys” who start blackmailing senators including Thomas Bransfield who gives DiNozzo “an unexpected gift.”
Senator Bransfield is portrayed by Matt McCoy. He’s appeared on dozens of TV shows from Silicon Valley (Pete Monahan) to Seinfeld (Lloyd Braun), and is recognized for his roles in the films L.A. Confidential (“Badge of Honor” star Brett Chase) and The Hand That Rocks the Cradle (Annabella Sciorra’s husband Michael), among others. NCIS airs Tuesdays at 8pm on CBS.
