ABC News correspondent Robin Roberts interviewed Amanda Berry and Gina DeJesus, two of the survivors of the Cleveland kidnappings, three years after their escape. Between 2002 and 2004, Berry, DeJesus, and Michelle Knight were kidnapped by Ariel Castro. They were held captive in his home — where they were tortured and raped repeatedly — until 2013. The abduction and imprisonment shocked the nation when it was revealed after police finally captured Castro.
Berry and DeJesus chronicled their stories of survival in the book, Hope: A Memoir of Survival in Cleveland, which was written with Pulitzer Prize-winning Washington Post reporters Mary Jordan and Kevin Sullivan. ABC 20/20 will air Roberts’ interview with Berry and DeJesus on Saturday, April 30 at 10pm.
