Elementary school teacher Hannah Huston is competing on Season 10 of The Voice. After she sang “The House of the Rising Sun” during the Knockout Round, her coach Pharrell Williams was blown away. “I love that she communicates when she sings. Adele has that quality.” You know who else has that quality? Miss Aretha Franklin. Hannah will sing the 1968 song “Ain’t No Way” which was written by Aretha’s younger sister, Carolyn, who also sang backing vocals on the track with members of The Sweet Inspirations including Cissy Houston. Cissy’s daughter Whitney Houston covered the song in 1994.

Another fun fact about “Ain’t No Way”: The Voice‘s Christina Aguilera sang the song in a tribute to Aretha during the 53rd Grammy Awards ceremony in 2011. No pressure, Hannah! The Voice airs Mondays and Tuesdays at 8pm on NBC.
