Alex Rodriguez — the man who single-handedly made old baseball contracts obsolete when he signed for $275 million back in 2008 — is reportedly dating Anne Wojcicki, the ex-wife of Google founder Sergey Brin. The news, which smells like money as well as love, makes you wonder what the couple does for fun. Fly to the moon? Shop for islands? Start a new country? It’s hard to answer the question in the title — who’s richer. As any Bernie Sanders supporter will tell you, regular people really have no idea how much money the super-rich have. Wojcicki didn’t hit the financial lottery with Brin either — and not just because there was a pre-nup that silo’d the Google loot. Wojcicki is a powerhouse tech entrepreneur in her own right, the founder of the genome company 23andme. If you’ve been paying attention to Silicon Valley this century, that means she’s likely even richer than A-Rod. (And her legal bills might be a little lighter.) Rodriguez is slated to make just $21 million this year, but his net worth is thought to be near $300 million. Wojcicki’s 23andme was valued at $1.1 billion in a recent round of venture capital.
