In the TV movie The Stepchild, Beth Bennett and her 17-year-old stepdaughter Ashley (Sarah Fisher) are recovering from a home invasion that claimed the life of Beth’s husband. Part of their recovery involves Beth and Ashley returning to their home. In an effort to help them feel secure in there, the father’s friend/business partner John (Paul Johansson) comes to stay with them. But Ashley doesn’t feel safe around John. When she finds out that John’s wife died in an unusual accident, she fears for the life of Beth.
Beth is portrayed by Lauren Holly. She’s best known for her roles on NCIS (NCIS Director Jenny Shepard), Chicago Hope (Dr. Jeremy Hanlon), Picket Fences (Maxine Stewart), and in the films Dumb & Dumber (Mary Swanson), No Looking Back, and What Women Want (Gigi), among others. The Stepchild premieres on March 12 at 8pm on Lifetime. It will air again on March 13 at 12am and 4pm, and on March 19 at 10pm.
