On the Girls episode “Queen for Two Days,” while Shoshanna (Zosia Mamet) continues to enjoy Japan and with her new man Yoshi (Hiro Mizushima), Hannah (Lena Dunham) and her mother Loreen go on a weekend “Queening” retreat. The idea is to help Loreen clear her mind as she’s still trying to figure out how to handle her husband Tad (Peter Scolari).
Loreen Horvath is portrayed by Becky Ann Baker. She’s best known for her recurring roles on The Good Wife (Alma Hoff), Smash (Mrs. Cartwright), Kings (Jessie Shepherd), All My Children (Mrs. Luper), and Freaks and Geeks (Jean Weir). Baker is also recognized for her roles in the films A Simple Plan (Nancy Chambers), Men in Black (Mrs. Redgick), and Spider-Man 3 (Mrs. Stacy). Girls airs Sundays at 10pm on HBO.
