Avalon Young, Olivia Rox and Gianna Isabella are vying for a spot on the Top 8 list of American Idol. Avalon choose her song wisely. She sang The Weeknd’s song “Earned It” from the Fifty Shades of Grey movie. Avalon proved that she was in her singing comfort zone, owning the stage with style. “There’s no one like you when you’re in your comfort zone,” said JLo.

But there was something noticeably different about Avalon on stage. She was given a makeover of sorts, which means going out of her “tomboy” comfort zone. “I’m not a makeup judge,” joked Harry Connick, Jr. “but I think you’re so beautiful.” He added, “If you don’t feel comfortable, don’t do it.” American Idol airs Thursdays at 8pm on FOX.
